2010 Home Opener: Part 1 of 4 (9/2/10)

Armando is a Master. He has cut every ND Head Coach’s hair since Ara (with the exception of Ty’s and Davie’s). And of course, has styled many of us since 1975.

Coach Kelly is due for his haircut today, but I did not have time to stay. Armando assured me that he will pass my regards and “Good Luck” wishes to BK.

BK told Armando 3 weeks ago that he has been on an incredible roller coaster for the past 9 months “doing all the things the ND Head Football Coach is supposed to do…but now I am ready to prove that I can coach!”

Armando also cuts the hair of several Assistant Coaches. He states they are very polished, genuine, sincere and focused. They are ready to coach and win, too.

BK says he is very pleased with the young players and the best will play on his team. He also stated that the Running Backs are the best collection he has ever had as a coach. Apparently, Cierre Wood is really pushing Armando Allen. Dayne Crist is ready, and freshman back-up Tommy Rees (who has been on campus since January) appears very capable.

New addition to the Stadium…above the entrance gates are tributes to every ND Coach who has won a National Championship (ex: Gate B is now the “Ara Parseigian Gate”.) A priest friend attending dinner with BK recently informed Coach K that Gate E is currently unnamed and is reserved for him.
